Barabhaig has a wonderful position on the shore of Camus Croise Bay on the south-eastern coast of Skye just 20 minutes drive south of the Skye Bridge and 15 minutes drive north of Armadale where the car-ferry arrives from Mallaig and 'The Road to the Isles'. It stands at the end of a single-track road that leads through the village of Camus Croise, about one mile from the hamlet of Isle Ornsay (award-winning restaurant/pub) - a detached, traditional stone cottage facing across the bay - which harmonises beautifully into the green rocky landscape which surrounds it, while from its grounds (garden furniture) you can enjoy views across the water to the massive hills of the mainland Scotland. It is an ideal location from which to enjoy bird watching and to see otters and seals. From Armadale you can take boat trips to the Outer Isles.
There is an award-winning restaurant and bar at the Hotel eilean Iarmain at Isle Ornsay, about a mile along the coast, which also hosts regular evenings of traditional music in the bar.
Restored and modernised a few years ago, it is a most welcoming and confortable house. Heating is by central-heating (INCLUDED) and open-fire (logs INCLUDED). Bed-linen is INCLUDED and towels can be hired. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
