Nydie Mains Farmhouse is a classic example of a traditional Scottish lowland farmhouse.  Solid and well-proportioned, it stands apart from the farm buildings in a mature, enclosed walled garden (swings, sand pit) on the Nydie Farm Estate near St Andrews in Fife.

With superb views across the Eden Valley towards the River Tay, it offers generous and versatile accommodation and is particularly suitable for disabled visitors and larger parties (pets are welcome).  Downstairs there is a spacious sitting room with log fire, a large kitchen/dining room again with log fire, a bedroom, with a double and single beds with adjoining bathroom, cloakroom with WC and utility room.  Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en suite shower room, large bedroom with three single beds, two twin bedrooms, two small single bedrooms, and a bathroom with shower.

On the Estate, visitors can enjoy delightful country walks, and there is a private stretch of the River Eden for which fishing permits are available.  There is an abundance of bird and wildlife and plenty of space in which to relax and where children can play in safety.

With the University town of St Andrews (all facilities) only three miles away with its golf, sandy beaches, excellent restaurants and rich history, in one direction, in the other three there are all the attractions of the fishing villages of the East Neuk and the Fife hinterland to explore.  Dundee (12m) across the Tay Bridge, leads on to the Angus Glens and Royal Deeside; Loch Lomond and the Trossachs and the Highlands beyond Perth are all within a day?s drive.  Edinburgh itself can be reached in an hour across the Forth Bridge, or take the train from nearby Cupar (8m).

Heating is by oil central heating.  Pets are welcome.
