This delightful holiday cottage stands high on a hill overlooking the broad valley of the Tay between Balnaguard and Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire.  A completely self-contained wing of Allt Mor House, a listed Georgian carriage house,  it is accessed by the quietest of country lanes from the village of Strathtay and is in a lovely peaceful situation.

Inside, it has been imaginatively converted to provide cosy and comfortable holiday accommodation on two floors, with a spacious and well-appointed kitchen diner, a cosy sitting room, and upstairs, two attractive bedrooms.

The area is very popular for outdoor pursuits.  The river between Strathtay itself (shop) and Grandtully (hotel) on the opposite bank, is a mecca for canoeists and white water specialists, and of course, this being the Tay, it is also a world-renowned fishing river.  Aberfeldy (8m) has all facilities, including a leisure centre, while in the other direction Pitlochry (12m) is well known for its fish ladder and famous Festival Theatre in the Hills.
Just beyond Aberfeldy, the pretty village of Kenmore (14m) stands at the head of Loch Tay, where sailing and other water sports can be enjoyed, and you can visit the Iron Age Crannog in the loch.

A little further afield, to the east from Pitlochry you can head across to the road to Braemar and Royal Deeside, or go west via Killin to the west coast.  The area has some excellent walking of all grades of difficulty, from woodland strolls to the more challenging slopes of Schiehallion and Ben Vrackie.

Heating is by electric radiant and storage heaters and wood burning stove.  A starter pack of logs is INCLUDED and electricity is payable by meter reading.  Bed linen and towels are INCLUDED.  Sorry, no pets and smoking is not permitted in the cottage.  As the cottage has open tread stairs, care may be required with younger children.
