Tirinie West is one of two very comfortable, traditional old stone cottages, standing semi-detached from each other within the 70-acre private country Estate of Tirinie at the head of one of those small spectacular glens in Central Scotland that you never find unless deliberately directed to them. 7 miles north of Pitlochry and just 2 miles from the village of Blair Atholl (hotels/shops), they are hidden away 1,000ft up in the hills of Glen Fender enjoying a fantastic view across miles and miles of green countryside down to The Duke of Atholl's 'Blair Castle'and the hills by Loch Tummel and Loch Tay.
Once a peaceful retreat for Church of Scotland ministers who came to recover their energy and revive their spiritual well-being, Tirinie still offers the same peace and quiet, yet, being only a few miles from the A9 and about halfway between Edinburgh and Inverness, it has excellent road connections in all directions, and is within easy reach of that busy magnet for visitors - Pitlochry - with its very well-known Festival Theatre, sporting opportunities, shops, restaurants, museums, and romantic countryside roundabout. Coming from a distance, you can also arrive by train at Blair Atholl and then hire a car locally - and you can hire mountain bikes to ride right across country to Braemar on Royal Deeside.
Heating is by central-heating (INCLUDED) and open-fire (some coal/wood INCLUDED). Electricity, bedlinen and towels are INCLUDED. Pets are welcome by arrangement. Both cottages are completely self-contained with their own entrances, but share the use of a washing-machine, tumble-drier and sink, in an outside utility-room.
