The Urrard Estate, just 3 miles from Pitlochry (all facilities) in the heart of scenic Highland Perthshire, lies on the very site of the Battle of Killiecrankie, where in 1689 Bonnie Dundee's Jacobites defeated the forces of William of Orange.

Now you will find a much more peaceful scene.  The Steading stands in a delightful courtyard setting beyond which there are extensive gardens, graced by elegant peacocks and also home to a duck pond.  (Guests are welcome to wander here but are asked  to close gates, respect the privacy of the Big House and remember that the Estate is a historic battle site.)  Cleverly converted from an erstwhile farm building, it now offers comfortable and very well appointed accommodation which is sure to delight its tenants.

The Estate offers fishing and shooting (sporting and clay) by arrangement (charge) and tenants can also arrange access to the gym (charge).  Nearby, there is an arena for Western riding, so there is certainly no shortage of things to do right on the doorstep.

Nearby Pitlochry offers excellent shops and eating places, in addition to its famous Festival Theatre in the Hills, where you can 'stay six days and see six plays' and its fish ladder, where you can spot the salmon as they fight their way upstream to spawn.  Killicrankie itself has an excellent hotel, and a Visitor Centre commemorating the battle, with its 'Soldier's Leap' across the falls, where one redcoat jumped to evade his pursuers.

You can take the beautiful road up Strath Tummel, stopping at the Queen's View on the way, and on to Loch Rannoch, climb Schiehallion, (the 'Fairy Mountain'), or Ben Vrackie which overlooks Pitlochry, or head further north on the fast A9 to Aviemore, the Cairngorms or even Inverness.  To the southeast, Loch Tay offers excellent facilities for water sports, and you can visit the Iron Age crannog in the loch.

Heating is by electricity and wood burning stove,  Electricity, bed linen and towels are INCLUDED.   Sorry, no pets or smokers and because the Steading is on a working farm it is not suitable for children under 12.
