***Introductory Comments***

Welcome to the February issue of Uniquely Unspoilt.

This time of year sees many of Scotland?s attractions gearing themselves up for the busier tourist season, and the country?s outdoors is also now becoming increasingly accessible as the days get longer and the weather better.

This issue?s main feature looks at the various golfing events taking place this summer, with international attention set to focus on both the professional tournaments and their excellent scenery.

Our guest article concerns the Reivers Festival 2005, a varied celebration of history and culture in the Scottish Borders.

Please feel free to send in any comments as ever.

The organisation of the Reivers Festival is supported by the Hawick Partnership, set up to support various regeneration actions in Hawick, Scottish Borders in partnership with Scottish Borders Council and Scottish Enterprise Borders

~~ The Hawick Reivers Festival - by Joanne Golton ~~

The sounds of horses? hooves, clashing swords and musket fire will ring through the streets of Hawick during the Easter weekend as crowds will flock to the many events that will make up the third Hawick Reivers Festival.

Hawick lies at the heart of reiver country, in what was known as the Scottish Middle March, and this festival not only brings to life some of the region?s turbulent history but also evokes the spirit of the reivers and celebrates its legacy in our...Full article>>>
