***Introductory Comments***

Welcome to the October issue of Uniquely Unspoilt.

This issue's main feature looks at one of Scotland's longest-running traditions: the clan system. It looks at the origins of clans, through to where you can visit today to see where crucial battles were fought, and even a guide to the origins of some typical clan names.

Our guest article has been provided by the Scottish Seabird Centre, the award winning visitor centre in East Lothian, and outlines just how close the centre can bring you to the local wildlife, from remote controlled cameras to boat trips.

Please feel free to send in any comments as ever.
